How I Became a Massage Therapist

I am married (to Rich) and live with two cats (one shy, Fences, and one gregarious, Mario) and one very smart Border Collie, Niki, who spends many a frustrating hour attempting to herd the cats. A photo of Ginger hiking in the mountains with her Border Collie. Hiking, camping and working out are some of my favorite activities. I have been a student of Tai Chi for 8 years.

The Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) field is a way of life for me and I enjoy being able to share what I've learned with my clients by providing massage therapy.

I hold two Washington State licenses, one in Massage Therapy and one in Cosmetology. I earned my license in massage therapy in 1981. This was a transition time for me, as I moved away from hair design and into massage therapy. The personal "touch" has been my calling in life. I opened Ginger's Therapeutic Massage in Spokane in 2002. Call for an Appointment: 509.999.0561

  • • In 1981, I graduated from North Olympic School of Massage in Port Angeles, WA, where I completed the 1500 hours of training required by the State of Washington
  • • Massage Practitioner License Credential No. MA 00001080. Initial Issuance is 10/26/1981
  • • Business License of the City of Spokane, License No. L0847146
  • • I fulfill the continuing education requirement, which is 8 hours annually
  • • Level II Reiki Certificates (What is Reiki?)
Reiki is a gentle Japanese therapy that appears to be as simple as "laying on of hands." However, as the therapist, it is not my strong energy healing you, as the client; it is your body, using me, to draw healing into you. While this is not a major component of my massage repertoire, I am trained in Reiki. Reiki can be good for general relaxation or for healing wounds and/or injuries. Read more about Reiki > > >

  • • Certificate of Continuing Education, Healing Points of the Hands and Feet, Geriatric Massage, Myopathic Muscular Therapy, Aromatherapy, Ethical Dilemmas of Care Giving

While living in Hawaii for thirteen years, I worked in a chiropractic clinicA photo of Ginger's cat Mario with a Holistic focus where I learned many aspects of natural health and healing. At the end of my stay in Hawaii, I decided to return to Spokane where my desire to work in massage therapy and stress relief provided the motivation to open my own massage practice.

Swedish massage is my primary technique; I integrate it with deep tissue work when necessary.

With many continuing education hours, and several years of professional massage work, I have developed a personal style that incorporates varying techniques based on the needs of my clients. I treat my clients for a variety of health issues, relaxation and stress relief.
